International Students Explore "Cool Japan"

Field Trip to Asagaya on Oct. 17th and 30th

On October 17th and 30th, MEXT Teacher Training Students and TUFS Japanese students took a field trip to Asagaya, a neighboring city of Fuchu, where TUFS is located. International Students who came to Japan this autumn visited shrines, local markets and Asagaya Anime Street with TUFS Japanese students. They were shown practical aspects of ancient and modern Japanese culture.

Field Trip to JAXA Chofu Aerospace Center

On November 6th, MEXT Teacher Training Students and TUFS Japanese students visited the JAXA Chofu Aerospace Center. This field trip was carried out as part of a class about “Cool Japan”. The students learned Japanese technology through real machines, exhibitions and simulators.

Visit to National DietLibrary

On November 7th, MEXT students and TUFS Japanese students took a tour of the National Diet Library. Both international Students and Japanese students took advantage of this visit to find materials for their studies. They observed the stack room which stores information on Japanese books, and enjoyed a special exhibition, “Autograph manuscripts and original artwork of well-known people” which shows 150 autographs of public figures. Through the tour, the students found tips for their studies and learned how to use the library.
