Associate Professor Miyachi Receives Awards for His Book, "Reflective Ethnic Movement: A Comparative and Constructivist Analysis of Bolivian and Ecuadorian Indigenous Organizations"

Associate Professor Takahiro (Institute of Global Studies) received two awards for his book, “ Reflective Ethnic Movement: A Comparative and Constructivist Analysis of Bolivian and Ecuadorian Indigenous Organizations”; The 36th Award for the Promotion of Studies on Developing Countries (Institute of Developing Economies Japan External Trade Organization, JETRO, announced on June 11th) and “The Japan Society of Social Science on Latin America Award” (Japan Society of Social Science, announced on July 1st).
JETRO established the Award for the Promotion of Studies on Developing Countries in 1980, aiming to promote social studies and related research on developing countries. Last year, Yutaka Sakuma received the award.

The Japanese Society of Social Science (JSLA) founded the JSLA Award in 2014. The award was established to encourage young researchers, with the hope of developing and improving social and scientific research on people with Latin American or Caribbean background who live in Japan.
