April 2017, a dating abuse awareness course entitled 'Gender-surpassing Communication from the Viewpoint of Dating Abuse' by the non-profit organisation Resilience was held in coordination with Fuchu City Women's Centre as part of the Global Liberal Arts Programme course 'Health Studies' (course instructor: Manabe Motomu).
In addition to over 300 students, the course was attended by just under ten citizens of Fuchu who joined through public applications.
Many new students just starting their new student life as of this April were attending, and learned about things such as the mechanisms of dating abuse and the tools to avoid harm. Some noted that they were made aware of forms of domestic violence that they previously did not consider as domestic violence.
