COVID-19 infection (3rd Report, November 5, 2020)
In the second report issued on October 23, we announced that 13 of our students had been identified by the health center as having had close contact with the infected student. Thereafter, 2 out of the 13 students and 1 out of 30 newly identified students as having had contact with the student became symptomatic. As a result, 4 TUFS students have tested positive for COVID-19, as well as an extracurricular activity coach who was later also found to be infected. All 4 students have recovered and have already been given permission by the health center to go out. Additionaly, all of those identified by the health center and by the university as having had close contact with the infected have completed a two-week observation period from the day of contact and have resumed their activities at the university as they are now in good health. The above students were members of two of TUFS’ extracurricular activities.
In response to this incident, we have taken the following two measures to strengthen our tracking system in the event that another student is tested positive.
(1) The reporting sysytem (used to better understand the health of students in extracuricular activities) and its content have been partially revised, ensuring thorough compliance.
(2) In order to trace contacts within the ZOOM classrooms in the Research and Lecture Building, a QR code entry/exit reporting system has been introduced.
The cooperation of students is essential in preventing the spread of COVID-19. We thank you for your support and understanding of the above measures.

COVID-19 infection (2nd report, October 23, 2020)
This is an update on the COVID-19 case of a TUFS student reported on October 21, 2020.
As a result of the public health center's on-site investigation, 13 of our students have been identified as close contacts with the infected student before the onset of symptoms. All of the students who contacted with the first infected, including the 13 close contacts, have been ordered to stay home for a fixed period of time. The campus entry restrictions have been lifted today, and the face-to-face classes will resume from October 26 (no face-to-face classes on October 23).
TUFS will continue to work together with the public health center to prevent the spread of infection. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
