Professor Emeritus Yoshiyuki Ogasawara and Professor Emeritus Hikoichi Yajima Receive the Foreign Minister's Commendation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced on Thursday, August 1, 2024, that Professor Emeritus Yoshiyuki Ogasawara and Professor Emeritus Hikoichi Yajima have been selected as recipients of the 2024 Commendation for Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Minister's Commendation is an award given to individuals and organizations that are active in various fields of international relations and have made particularly outstanding contributions to the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and other countries.

Professor Emeritus Ogasawara received the award for "promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Taiwan" and Professor Emeritus Yajima received the award for "promoting academic exchange through Islamic history”.

The award ceremony will be held at the Iikura Annex of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on Thursday, August 8.
