TUFS President Participates in International Conference in Turkmenistan

On Thursday 14th and Friday the 15th of November, the International Conference and Exhibition “Education and Sports in the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State” was held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. President HAYASHI Kayoko attended on behalf of TUFS, and gave a speech at the opening ceremony. In her speech, President Hayashi gave an introduction to the relations between TUFS partner institution the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD) and TUFS, TUFS’ efforts in multilingual/multicultural coordination, Central Asian Education Research and Turkmen language education. At the closing ceremony, TUFS was presented with a certificate by the Turkmenistan Ministry of Education for participating in this event.
An international fair was held to coincide with this conference, at which IUHD and TUFS set up a joint booth. TUFS student SUZUKI Asaka (School of International and Area Studies, Central Asian Area Studies/Russian language studies third year) manned the booth in a kimono, at which she talked about Japan and studying at TUFS. The Special Online Session between IUHD and TUFS was also live-streamed at this booth。
During her stay in Turkmenistan, President Hayashi paid a visit to a Japanese class held at the Global Japan Office (an overseas office run by TUFS) at IUHD, and the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan, through which she exchanged information on Japanese education in Turkmenistan and promoting relations with Japan.
