Memorandum of Understanding signed with JICA for cooperation in dispatching volunteers in the field of Japanese language education
November 30, 2022
On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, TUFS concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) regarding the dispatch of volunteers in the field of Japanese language education in order to promote Japanese language education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and to contribute to TUFS’ human resource development in the field of international cooperation.
Due to globalization and the multilingual and multiculturalization of Japanese society, there is a growing need for Japanese language educators who understand the language and culture of Japanese language learners. The development of such human resources is one of TUFS’s strengths, and TUFS is currently preparing a cross-faculty training program for Japanese language instructors. The JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Program will be utilized for this educational training. In addition to meeting the objectives of JICA’s Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Program to “deepen mutual understanding and coexistence in different cultures” and “contribute to economic and social development and reconstruction in developing countries,” TUFS will be helping through this partnership to enable autonomous Japanese language education at the University of Jordan.
