International Students Received as Part of the Reinventing Japan Project (Latin America)

As part of the Reinventing Japan Project, a collaborative initiative between TUFS, the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) and "Co-Creative Education Program of Humanities and Sciences to Solve Global Issues Confronting Japan and Latin America (La-Cep)", a total of 26 international students were received from Latin American partner universities, and an opening ceremony took place on Monday 26

November 2016.
The international students participated in a month-long integrated course of Japanese language and Current Japanese studies. Aside from taking lessons, the students took field trips to the Edo-Tokyo Museum, the Life Safety Learning Centre, and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan Mitaka Campus. They also took part in lessons on Japanese history and culture, gaining a basic knowledge for staying in Japan. Their results were announced at the Japanese Language Final Presentation Meeting on Friday 23
rd
September.
In the next six months to one year, the students will be engaging in coursework in their respective fields at one of the three universities.
